What is the hardest word search puzzle?
On this site, the Expert level here (20 by 20, 30 words) and the extreme word search (22 by 22, 36 words) are the hardest: big grids, long words, every direction and many words backwards.
Why is word search so hard?
Hard puzzles hide more words in a bigger grid and in all eight directions, including backwards, and they fill the empty squares with letters that start false trails. Long words help: look for their rare letters first.
