How to use these Volleyball word searches
Coaches can hand a puzzle to the team on the bus to a tournament or during a rain delay at a beach event. Gym teachers can use the easy ones to introduce the court and the basic moves before the first game. Booster clubs can put copies out at the concession stand. Try The Court, Basic Moves or On the Team. They are 10 by 10 grids with eight short words like net, serve, set and spike that run across and down only.
They name them. Positions covers setter, libero, hitter, blocker and opposite, and Rules and Calls covers antenna, double hit, net touch, foot fault, sideout and rally for players learning the rulebook.
Beach Volleyball is a medium puzzle with sand, partner, barefoot, sunscreen and Olympics, and History of the Game includes Waikiki and Santa Monica along with Morgan, Holyoke and the first name, Mintonette.
Easy puzzles (10 by 10, words across and down) work from about age 6. Medium puzzles (13 by 13, diagonals added) suit ages 8 to 11. Hard puzzles (16 by 16, every direction, backwards too) are for older kids and adults.
Page 2 of every PDF is the answer key, with each word marked where it hides. When you play online, the Show answers button marks them on the grid.
