How to use these Spanish word searches
Use the easy puzzles as a first-week vocabulary warm-up in a Spanish class, or hand them to a child learning colors and numbers at home. Homeschool groups can pair a puzzle with flashcards, and adult learners can work through the hard puzzles on a commute. Each PDF has the puzzle on page 1 and the answer key on page 2.

Every Spanish puzzle on this page is free to play online and free to print as a PDF with its answer key, one by one. Only the optional booklet, all 25 puzzles bundled into one print-ready file, costs money.
A word search grid only holds the letters A to Z, so accents are dropped and words like otoño, baño and pequeño appear as OTONO, BANO and PEQUENO. The puzzles avoid words where dropping the mark changes the meaning.
Start with the easy puzzles: colors, numbers one to ten, family members and days of the week. They use the same words as a first-year Spanish course. Medium puzzles add months, clothing and verbs, and hard puzzles cover countries and professions.
The word list shows the Spanish words only, so students have to know or look up the meaning. Teachers who want a translation exercise can ask students to write the English next to each word after they find it.
Easy puzzles (10 by 10, words across and down) work from about age 6. Medium puzzles (13 by 13, diagonals added) suit ages 8 to 11. Hard puzzles (16 by 16, every direction, backwards too) are for older kids and adults.
Page 2 of every PDF is the answer key, with each word marked where it hides. When you play online, the Show answers button marks them on the grid.
