Use Food Chain (easy) for grades 1 and 2 and Food Webs (medium) for grades 4 to 6. The medium puzzle has producer, consumer, decomposer, predator, herbivore, omnivore and scavenger.
The medium puzzle Natural Cycles has carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, evaporation, respiration, decay and runoff, so it fits a lesson on how matter moves through an ecosystem.
Ecology Terms covers symbiosis, mutualism, succession and keystone species, and Famous Naturalists names Darwin, Haeckel and Rachel Carson, which fits a high school biology or environmental science unit.
Easy puzzles (10 by 10, words across and down) work from about age 6. Medium puzzles (13 by 13, diagonals added) suit ages 8 to 11. Hard puzzles (16 by 16, every direction, backwards too) are for older kids and adults.
