The Cell is a medium puzzle with nucleus, membrane, mitochondria and chloroplast. Genetics Basics covers gene, allele and dominant. Cells and Division and DNA and Genes are the hard ones, with mitosis, meiosis, codon and polymerase.
The medium puzzles use terms taught in grades 6 to 8, such as photosynthesis parts, classification ranks and body systems. The easy puzzles suit grades 1 and 2, and the hard ones go into high school and college terms.
Famous Biologists is a hard puzzle with 18 historical names, including Darwin, Mendel, Pasteur, Linnaeus, Hooke and Leeuwenhoek. Only scientists from the past are used.
Easy puzzles (10 by 10, words across and down) work from about age 6. Medium puzzles (13 by 13, diagonals added) suit ages 8 to 11. Hard puzzles (16 by 16, every direction, backwards too) are for older kids and adults.
Page 2 of every PDF is the answer key, with each word marked where it hides. When you play online, the Show answers button marks them on the grid.
