How to use these April word searches
Hand the easy puzzles to first and second graders on April Fools' Day or after an Easter egg hunt, and use the Earth Day and poetry puzzles as a short warm-up in class. Families can pack a few for a spring picnic, and care home staff can use the medium level. Each PDF has the puzzle on page 1 and the answer key on page 2.

Earth Day in the easy level uses words like RECYCLE and REUSE, Earth Day Heroes in the medium level adds HABITAT and ENERGY, and Climate and Conservation in the hard level has BIODIVERSITY, WATERSHED and ECOSYSTEM.
Poetry Month in the medium level hides forms and terms like SONNET, HAIKU and STANZA, and Poets and Poetic Terms in the hard level hides poets such as Whitman, Keats and Longfellow.
Two are. Easter Eggs and Easter Traditions use eggs, baskets and parades only. Holy Week in the hard level uses church season words and Bible places, so choose it only if that suits your group.
Easy puzzles (10 by 10, words across and down) work from about age 6. Medium puzzles (13 by 13, diagonals added) suit ages 8 to 11. Hard puzzles (16 by 16, every direction, backwards too) are for older kids and adults.
Page 2 of every PDF is the answer key, with each word marked where it hides. When you play online, the Show answers button marks them on the grid.
