Algebra Basics, Rules and Properties, Graphing, Solving Equations and Polynomials are the medium puzzles. They hold words such as variable, coefficient, slope, intercept, factoring and monomial that come up in a first algebra course.
The easy puzzles use plain words like plus, minus, balance, pattern and graph. Balance Scale and Number Patterns introduce the idea of equal sides and rules, which is where algebra starts.
Abstract Algebra hides terms such as homomorphism, isomorphism, subgroup, coset and kernel. Pioneers of Algebra names historical mathematicians, from al-Khwarizmi and Diophantus to Cardano, Tartaglia and Boole.
Easy puzzles (10 by 10, words across and down) work from about age 6. Medium puzzles (13 by 13, diagonals added) suit ages 8 to 11. Hard puzzles (16 by 16, every direction, backwards too) are for older kids and adults.
