Size and Shape, Color Words, Feelings and Senses are easy 10 by 10 puzzles with common words such as big, blue, happy and soft. Each has eight words of three to nine letters.
Comparatives and Superlatives is a hard puzzle with pairs such as bigger and biggest, happier and happiest, better and best, worse and worst. It also has more beautiful and most beautiful.
Each word describes a noun or is a comparing form of an adjective. Students can choose any word from the grid and say which noun it could describe, for example a crunchy apple or a towering tree.
Easy puzzles (10 by 10, words across and down) work from about age 6. Medium puzzles (13 by 13, diagonals added) suit ages 8 to 11. Hard puzzles (16 by 16, every direction, backwards too) are for older kids and adults.
Page 2 of every PDF is the answer key, with each word marked where it hides. When you play online, the Show answers button marks them on the grid.
