Deer, fox, owl, bear, squirrel, rabbit, moose and raccoon all live in North American forests, though not every one lives in every state. The puzzle uses short words for ages 6 and up.
Trees and Leaves and By the Pond use short, easy words such as bark, acorn, frog and reeds that children can spot outdoors. Wildflowers and Ocean Shore work for ages 8 to 12.
It lists 18 US national parks, including Yellowstone, Yosemite, Zion, Denali, Everglades, Acadia and Joshua Tree. Every name is a real park, and the hard grid hides them in every direction.
Easy puzzles (10 by 10, words across and down) work from about age 6. Medium puzzles (13 by 13, diagonals added) suit ages 8 to 11. Hard puzzles (16 by 16, every direction, backwards too) are for older kids and adults.
Page 2 of every PDF is the answer key, with each word marked where it hides. When you play online, the Show answers button marks them on the grid.
