Hockey Gear, On the Ice and Players are easy 10 by 10 puzzles with short words like STICK, PUCK, RINK and GOALIE. Words only run across and down, so a first grader can finish one.
The medium puzzle Hockey Rules hides OFFSIDE, ICING, PENALTY, FACEOFF, HOOKING and TRIPPING. The hard puzzle Strategy and Tactics adds FORECHECK, BACKCHECK, POWER PLAY and PENALTY KILL.
The puzzles use hockey terms, places, positions and the Stanley Cup trophy, but no pro team names or current players. That keeps them usable in any classroom or club.
Easy puzzles (10 by 10, words across and down) work from about age 6. Medium puzzles (13 by 13, diagonals added) suit ages 8 to 11. Hard puzzles (16 by 16, every direction, backwards too) are for older kids and adults.
Page 2 of every PDF is the answer key, with each word marked where it hides. When you play online, the Show answers button marks them on the grid.
