Spring Flowers, Parts of a Flower and Garden Helpers use short words like TULIP, STEM, BEE and SOIL. They are 10 by 10 grids with words only across and down, which suits ages 6 to 8.
The easy puzzle Parts of a Flower has petal, stem, leaf, root, seed, bud, pollen and pistil, and the hard puzzle Flower Science adds stigma, anther, filament, sepal, calyx and corolla.
Victorians used flowers to send messages, a practice called floriography. The hard puzzle Language of Flowers hides floriography with meanings like devotion, purity, friendship, gratitude and remembrance.
Easy puzzles (10 by 10, words across and down) work from about age 6. Medium puzzles (13 by 13, diagonals added) suit ages 8 to 11. Hard puzzles (16 by 16, every direction, backwards too) are for older kids and adults.
