Every artist in these puzzles is from history or has died, so the lists stay stable. The hard puzzles cover Dutch and Flemish masters, modern art pioneers and women artists from the 1500s to the 1900s.
His name contains a letter string that the puzzle maker blocks in every direction. Cassatt and Pissarro are missing for the same reason. Matisse, Monet, Cezanne and many other painters from the same era are in.
Art Supplies, Art Class, Famous Painters and Museum Visit are easy 10 by 10 puzzles with short words, such as brush, easel, Monet and Goya. They fit ages 6 to 8.
Easy puzzles (10 by 10, words across and down) work from about age 6. Medium puzzles (13 by 13, diagonals added) suit ages 8 to 11. Hard puzzles (16 by 16, every direction, backwards too) are for older kids and adults.
Page 2 of every PDF is the answer key, with each word marked where it hides. When you play online, the Show answers button marks them on the grid.
