Cinco de Mayo marks the Mexican army's victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. Mexican Independence Day is celebrated on September 16. The medium Battle of Puebla puzzle covers the 1862 story.
A word search grid holds only the letters A to Z, so words such as pinata and jalapeno are printed without accent marks or the tilde. Every word is spelled the way you would read it in plain capitals.
Fiesta Time, Mexican Food and Animals of Mexico use short, familiar words on a 10 by 10 grid, with words running only across and down. They suit most children from about age 6, with a little help on the Spanish words.
Easy puzzles (10 by 10, words across and down) work from about age 6. Medium puzzles (13 by 13, diagonals added) suit ages 8 to 11. Hard puzzles (16 by 16, every direction, backwards too) are for older kids and adults.
Page 2 of every PDF is the answer key, with each word marked where it hides. When you play online, the Show answers button marks them on the grid.
