Try the easy puzzles such as Farm Animals, Pets at Home and Zoo Animals. They use short words like cow, pig and lion in 10 by 10 grids where the words run only across and down.
Desert Animals, African Savanna, Pond and Stream, North American Forest and Arctic Animals each match one habitat. Animal Homes adds words such as burrow, warren and eyrie, and Reptiles and Baby Animals suit lessons on animal groups.
Endangered Species is a hard puzzle with the vaquita, kakapo, pangolin, saola and Sumatran tiger, among others. Sharks and Rays and Primates are other hard puzzles with long, specific animal names.
Easy puzzles (10 by 10, words across and down) work from about age 6. Medium puzzles (13 by 13, diagonals added) suit ages 8 to 11. Hard puzzles (16 by 16, every direction, backwards too) are for older kids and adults.
